Are Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Engaged?

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively: Unofficially Engaged?

Apparently there has been a bit of a snafu in the eight month relationship between sweethearts Ryan Reynolds, 35, and Blake Lively, 24.

The pair has been seen everywhere lately. They’ve been spotted holding hands in New York just a few blocks away from their new Bedford country home, and in Canada having dinner with Reynolds’ family. Well, now it looks like there’s some trouble in paradise.

It’s obvious that Lively and Reynolds are getting serious, and sources tell Star that the couple are unofficially engaged. However, if Ryan’s mother Tammy has it her way, they could be heading for a split. According to a source, the Gossip Girl actress wound up storming away during a visit after a confrontation with Reynolds’ mother.

The same source has gone on to tell the magazine that “Tammy thinks Blake is pressuring Ryan to settle down before he’s ready.” The source continues, “He rushed into his first marriage with Scarlett Johansson.” Even though Tammy isn’t too happy with Blake, she is insisting that the couple settle in Ryan’s hometown of Vancouver, “She says when they have kids, Blake and Ryan should raise them in Canada because it’s safer,” says the source.

However, Blake who films her television show Gossip Girl in New York “refuses to even consider that, saying that she has to be in New York for work.”

As for Ryan not being ready to settle down, in May of 2011 Reynolds gave an interview to Details magazine and has this to say about dating, “It just seems so kind of alien to me at this point. I’ve been in relationships pretty much since high school. Some people look at that as a good thing. I think wiser people might see that as a house of cards.”

Do you think Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively will stand the test of time?

Leighton Meester to endorse Penshoppe

Posted by: | Filed Under: Leighton Meester | Comments Off

Leighton Meester, who is best known for her role as Blair Waldorf in television series “Gossip Girl,” is the newest endorser of local clothing brand Penshoppe.

This places Meester alongside other celebrities such as fellow “Gossip Girl” co-star Ed Westwick, Hollywood star Zac Efron and “The Vampire Diaries” actor Ian Somerhalder, who is in the country for a photo shoot.

“Team Penshoppe officially welcomes Leighton Meester to Penshoppe All Stars,” Penshoppe said on Twitter.

The clothing company added that Meester will arrive in Manila for a “big Penshoppe show,” but did not mention a specific date.

Westwick, who played the role of Chuck Bass in “Gossip Girl,” arrived in Manila in June last year for his Penshoppe endorsement.

Somerhalder, meanwhile, is set to meet fans at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City on Thursday, May 24.

Getting big American stars as endorsers has become a trend among local clothing companies.

Bench, Penshoppe’s rival brand, has tapped “American Idol” finalist David Archuleta, “Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale, and “The Vampire Diaries” actor Michael Trevino as its endorsers.

Its newest recruit is Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, who arrived in Manila on Tuesday morning.

Hollywood actress Katie Holmes, meanwhile, is the face of Kamiseta, a local brand of ladies’ apparel.

Chace Crawford is dating an American television presenter eight years his senior.

The 26-year-old actor – who plays Nate Archibald in the teenage soap Gossip Girl – has been out on “a couple” of dates with sports newscaster Erin Andrews.

The 34-year-old past ‘Dancing With The Stars’ contestant and Chace attended a vodka event together recently and were also spotted dining at a New York City basement restaurant.

A source told Us Weekly: “They’re getting to know each other.”

Meanwhile the actor recently spoke out about the end of his popular television drama which will end after its sixth and final season at the end of this year.

He said: “For me, it’s going to be…tough to leave New York City. And it’s definitely an end of an era. It was college for everyone really.”

He told Parade magazine of the show’s cancelation: “If I got to write the show, it would be a very different thing. I would make Chuck Gossip Girl and I would turn my character into Patrick Bateman from ‘American Psycho’. That would be a weird twist of events.”

Chace Crawford Talks Gossip Girl…the Movie?!

Posted by: | Filed Under: Chace Crawford | Comments Off

Gossip Girl is coming to an end.

As fans of the CW series know, the show’s upcoming sixth season will be its last.

But as the show’s stars gear up to say sayonara to the Upper East Side, could some of them already be planning to reunite for a Gossip Girl movie à la Sex and the City?

“It’s funny because I just got that question recently,” Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford, who stars in the just-released What to Expect When You’re Expecting, told us.

“It had never even crossed my mind so it was like, that’s weird,” he said. “I don’t know if I want that, or do not want that. I don’t know what the logistics would be on that. I would imagine it’s a long shot. Who knows?”

If it was up to him, Gossip Girl will end with a bang. “Like the end of Die Hard,” Crawford said, “just walking away from an exploding helicopter.”

Crawford is attached to star alongside Pierce Brosnan as a South African accused of murder in director Bruce Beresford’s The House Gun.

“I feel like I could delve into it but I was worried about the accent,” the 26-year-old actor said. “It would be really fun. I’m good at impressions. It would take me a minute but I think I could get it down.”

Crawford: I’d love West End role

Posted by: | Filed Under: Chace Crawford | Comments Off

Chace Crawford has said he is keen to tread the boards in London.

The Gossip Girl heartthrob, who stars in new film What To Expect When You’re Expecting, revealed he has had meetings with West End theatre bosses about making a stage appearance.

“I’ve actually visited a bunch of theatres and talked to some people. I would absolutely love to do it,” he said.

“It doesn’t get any greater than getting up on stage in front of a live audience and putting yourself out there every night.”

Chace and the rest of the Gossip Girl crew are contracted for six years, so he will be returning to the hit TV series next year “for an undefined amount of episodes just to wrap things up”.

Ideally, he would then like to make more feature films because he hasn’t had the “fortune to do a ton of movies yet”.

“That’s why I’m trying to cross over and do more film work and do some stuff where I really get to stretch out and challenge myself,” he added.

“I’m not really in a commanding position to be picking out every single role I like, so you take what you can get and hope you take the ones that challenge you.”

:: What To Expect When You’re Expecting is released in cinemas on Friday, May 25

From the Upper Eastside to the south of France – via medieval Italy – Ed Westwick is on the move.

The “Gossip Girl” star was in Cannes on Saturday to celebrate a new movie, “Romeo and Juliet,” at a champagne reception on the beach.

Filmed in Italy, the British actor sports shoulder-length hair as Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin, in this movie production of William Shakespeare’s romantic play.

The role of Romeo goes to another Brit, Douglas Booth, while Oscar-nominee Hailee Steinfeld plays the famous heroine.

Written by “Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes, it’s directed by Carlo Carlei.

Westwick told AP he studied the tragedy at school and they shot at the historic Juliet balcony in Verona – although they had a stunt balcony built too.

He starts filming the final series of “Gossip Girl” in July.
